Community involvement

Serving more than just clients

Volunteering
Our Principal Partner, Thomas Jensen, serves on the Board of Directors of CASH Oregon. He is also a member of the Ways to Work loan committee for Metropolitan Family Service of Portland Metro and a member of the Tools for Living Vision Council of United Way Columbia Willamette.

Consulting
In addition to our client work, we also consult nonprofit organizations and governmental institutions on financial education, financial planning and economic development. Recent projects include:

ICF International with DHHS/ACF
Thomas Jensen is the Asset Building Strategic Advisor to the Regional Administrator (Region X) of the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). In his role, Thomas provides a financial planning and education framework, to help programs build financial security and stability for those who are most vulnerable in our society.

Abt Associates, Inc. with DHHS/ACF
Vaerdi has worked with Abt Associates in Washington DC to write a series of articles and educational materials on personal finance. They will be used by the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Children and Families in economic security programs throughout the country.

Montana Credit Unions for Community Development
Montana Credit Unions for Community Development is a statewide nonprofit organization working with Montana credit unions to improve the lives and financial independence of all Montanans. We have worked with this coalition to create financial opportunity through matched savings accounts and financial education.
